Virtual League Benefits - Active Schools Networks in Scotland

The Virtual League application helps everyone working within your Active Schools Network offer all children and young people the motivation and opportunities to 'get active'. You may already have come accross the virtual league concept which is great, however we’d like you to consider that our system was built with everyone in mind from Active Schools managers and co-ordinators to teachers and young people. Our application offers a good way to standardize the management of virtual league activities.

Here's some benefits we've considered for an Active Schools Network

  • Increases opportunities for young people to participate in sport and physical activity
  • Engages young people in sport and physical activity
  • It’s cost effective as it reduces travel costs
  • Opporrtunity to bridge with sports clubs and community organisations to give pupils a 'pathway' to continue their participation in sport outside of the school gates.
  • Improve school sport and physical activity inter and intra participation figures
  • Identify gifted and talented individuals as well as ones needing intervention work
  • Identifies schools and classes performing well as well as those needing intervention work
  • Whole Class Activity (doesn't exclude anyone)
  • Can be adapted to run cross curricular activities

From our experience in working with Active Schools Networks in Scotland and a number of School Sport Partnerships and Councils in England, we understand that you may wish to tailor the software to your needs. We can completely tailor our Virtual League application to suit your Active Schools Network.
